If you talk to anyone in town you will probably hear them say they met some of their closest friends through the Newcomers Club. For this reason, participation at our events is high and a wonderful way to make new friends and have fun. We offer everything from big parties to smaller gatherings for groups with specific interests. Please click on any of the activities below to find out more information or to rsvp.
The Newcomers Club of New Canaan offers a wide variety of activities including cocktail parties, gourmet groups, children’s activities, sports groups, book clubs, scrapbooking parties and more. Participating in our many club activities is a great way to make new friends with common interests and get involved in our wonderful town. And if you have an idea for a new activity or would like to become an activity leader, we welcome you to put your creative energy to work. If interested please see our section “Get Involved!” or please login for a complete list of current activities.
New Canaan is a very family-friendly town and our Newcomers Club is no exception! We organize activities to allow new families to discover the best of what New Canaan and Fairfield County have to offer. The Children’s Activities team focuses on creating fun events for children ages newborn to five. Some of our more popular annual events include the Summer Beach Party and Picnic, Fall Family Kick-Off, Children’s Halloween Party, our version of the “Polar Express” on a train ride to Stamford, and the Spring Treasure Hunt. We also partner with organizations throughout Fairfield County to provide a taste of the many types of classes available for young children, from music and crafts to cooking and sports. We also organize “Mommy and Me” playgroups for children ages six months to three years. Playgroups typically start in the fall but it is possible to join throughout the academic year. Please check the website regularly to find out what is coming up and to RSVP for events.
