Why should I join?

For 65 years, Newcomers Club of New Canaan has been an integral part of the New Canaan community.  As a member, you have access to our calendar of events and to our community newsletters, providing ample opportunity to meet new people and become familiar with our wonderful town.  We currently offer roughly 100 events or meet-ups each year to our community of 750 households - you may attend as many or as few events as you would like, depending on your interests and your schedule.  We are thrilled that you have chosen New Canaan as your home; let us help you find your people!

How much is it?

There is a one-time dues payment of $395 for a 4-year membership.

What kind of events do you offer?

Anything and everything!  We truly try to offer a wide variety of events, activities, and meetups to reflect our mission of connecting new neighbors.  For adults, we offer happy hours, coffees, morning walks, book clubs, supper club (small dinner parties), cooking classes, and so much more.  We have special interest activities as well such as mom groups, gardening workshops, adult crafts, tennis lessons, international club, mens softball, and so much more!

For families with children, we offer playgroups, halloween events, music classes, storytimes, visits to the police station, fire truck rides, visits with Santa, and many more events throughout the year.

What if I don’t have kids, or what if I’m an empty nester?

Over half of our events are for adults-only.   You will definitely have a full variety of events to choose from.

What if I’m originally from New Canaan?

How wonderful that you moved back!  There are many Newcomers members who went to school here – you are absolutely welcome to join even if you don’t necessarily feel “new”.  It speaks volumes on our lovely community that families move back to New Canaan.

We don’t own our home, can we join?

OF COURSE!  Any New Canaan resident, regardless of whether they are renting or purchased their home, is welcome to join.

I have a business in New Canaan, but live elsewhere.  Can I join?

Unfortunately at this point, the organization is only for people and families who reside in New Canaan.

I’ve lived in New Canaan for a few years but never joined.  Is it too late?

Most people join within their first year of moving to New Canaan.  But if you are relatively new to town and still have the spirit of being a Newcomer, please reach out!
